Why Most Laxatives Make Things Worse

An artistic flat lay of herbs and flowers with teaspoons on a wooden board

When things slow down and stop, the drugstore answer is usually a laxative that works fast and works hard. It gets results, technically. It also tends to leave you cramping, rushing, and feeling worse than the problem you started with.

Harsh laxatives force the issue. They push your system aggressively, often with urgency and discomfort, and they do nothing to support the gut while doing it. Used repeatedly, they can make your body more reliant on the push and less able to do the job on its own. You end up treating the same problem again and again.

A gentler kind of help

Relief does not have to be a battle. The goal is to encourage your body to move naturally, not to overrule it.

Release was built around that idea. It uses gentle stimulant herbs to encourage natural movement without the cramping and urgency that harsh products cause. Demulcent botanicals coat and protect the gut lining throughout, and calming ingredients ease the gas and bloating that often come along for the ride. The experience is smooth rather than dramatic.

That difference matters more than it sounds. When relief is comfortable, you are not bracing for it, and you are not undoing the comfort of your gut in order to get it.

If your current approach to staying regular involves gritting your teeth and clearing your schedule, it is worth rethinking. Your gut responds far better to encouragement than to force.
